Medical News: High-Dose Vitamin D No Help in MS - in Clinical Context, Multiple Sclerosis from MedPage Today
Supplementation with high-dose vitamin D failed to reduce the number or volume of MRI lesions in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS), a small randomized trial found.

Among patients receiving high-dose vitamin D, the cumulative number of new gadolinium-enhancing lesions during the six-month study was 14 compared with 11 in a group that received low-dose supplementation, which was not a significant difference, according to Mark S. Stein, MBBS, PhD, of Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville, Australia, and colleagues.
